MSP Resource Centre

Icono was approached to design a modern, state of the art photo processing facility which was to become the head quarters for Master School Portraits. The building was to be of high quality to represent the high standards of the business and to be a comfortable and enjoyable space for the staff. The owners are very focused on their staff members and desired an activity room for staff children to use during after school hours, a gym, an outdoor barbecue area and undercover staff parking.

cono's response, a 2000m2 building, single storey, with offices, production and boardrooms. These surround a large central open-plan workspace with warehouse facilities to the rear. Spacious and comfortable lunch room facilities are provided for staff with an adjacent outdoor barbecue area.

A striking colonnade of stately concrete and steel columns flank the generous frontage either side of the tiled entry portal. Spanning overhead sit two opposing skillion roofs with a central low-level roof accenting the roof profile.

Extensive glass is used externally and internally to ensure all work spaces receive natural light penetration. A central light well floods the central building core.

The building is fully networked, has a climate controlled server room, full building automation and backup gas-powered generator.
